FAQ’s

Winner Notification:
All winners (collectively, the “Winners”) will be announced by Thursday, 11 July 2013 and will be notified via telephone and email.

Prize Claims:
In the event that a winner is unable to accept a prize, an alternate winner will be selected by the panel of judges. Winners will be required to complete and sign an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability Release, and, where legal, a Publicity Release, all of which must be returned within thirty (30) days of attempted prize notification or the prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate Winner. In the event of non-compliance with these Official Rules, or if a prize or prize notification is unclaimed or returned as undeliverable, the prize will be forfeited and may be awarded to an alternate Winner.

Can I transfer my Prize?
Prizes are not transferable.

When does the competition open?
Entries and voting for the 2013 SPCA ROYAL CANIN MUTT AND MEOW COMPETITION opens on 11 June 2013.

When do entries close?
Entries close onon Monday, 1 July at 16h00

How do I vote?
Read through the amazing stories on the Contestants page, and find the ones that you feel are most deserving to be in line for the titles of Mutt and Meow of the Year. Click on the Vote for Me! button under the photo of your favourite pets, and vote by making a minimum donation of R20 to the SPCA.

When does voting close?
Voting closes at 16h00 on 8 July 2013

Can I submit photos of all my pets?
The contest is limited to pet dogs and cats only.

Can I submit photos of my pet dressed up?
Photographs must depict the dog in their natural state – i.e. pictures of dress up dogs in any sort of costume will not be considered.

How the winners will be determined?
Finalists for the Mutt of the Year and the Meow of the Year will be selected based on the most original, heart-warming and compelling stories of pet rescues and adoptions, as well as on votes received.
The entry with the highest number of donations received will win the Fundraisers of the Year in each category
